About Me

At the Great Wall of China

Hi there! My name is Jerry Farke and I’m a mechanical engineer originally from Armour, South Dakota (population ~800). I was born and raised on a farm near Armour, where my parents still reside.

I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in Rapid City, South Dakota in May 2014 and recently earned a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in December 2015.

I’m currently employed by Parker Hannifin’s Industrial Hose Division plant in McCook, Nebraska as a process engineer. I design hoses and work on cost reduction projects, quality improvements, and lean manufacturing initiatives to strive toward continuous improvement while serving current customer needs.

This site will be a collection of my thoughts and experiences, including academics, work experience, travel, etc. Browse the tabs at the top of the page for more!
